Clothing Steamers are used for getting rid of wrinkles from clothes, which are hard to iron. This takes some time to get used to, but is a simple method to press clothes instead of going to laundry often.

How to use?
Before starting the steaming process, the steamer has to be filled with water till the fill mark, and then it should be switched onto be heated fully to avoid spluttering of water before the steam comes out.
The clothes to be steamed have to be drooped so that they can be steamed easily. Curtain rods are ideal for hanging the clothes. Steaming in this position also allows the condensation water to pour down. To start steaming the garments, use the steam head to slightly touch the fabric; this immediately removes the wrinkles.
The steamer should not be overfilled with water or kept dry. Water should always be filled up to the fill mark only. Once steaming is done excess water has to be drained out.
Thus the hot water inside the steamer is converted to vapors due to the extreme pressure and high temperature. These vapors are used to fade away the dirt and vanishes wrinkles from garments. Placing hands directly in the way of steam causes burns; hence this should be avoided.

Steamers high temperature can also be used to get rid of dust mites, bacteria and other allergens from pillow covers, carpets and mattresses. Curtains and sofa covers can also be straightened out. Steamers are good for collars and pleats as they give a long lasting neat appearance.

• Handheld Steamers: are meant for traveling purposes. These steamers provide steam time of 12 minutes. It also offers dual voltage, storage bag and lint brush.
• Portable Steamers: are compact steamers consisting of a removable base, nozzle and a crease instrument. This kind of steamers provide a steam time of 20 minutes. These also have a clasp to facilitate hanging on door handles and option of automatic switch off. Portable steamers come with wheels; hence can be shifted from room to room easily.
• Upright steamers: offer a readily available pole to hang clothes while steaming. It has a switch that can be operated by foot and the base is smaller, thus occupying less space in the closet. Expensive upright steamers are available with more facilities like pressing boards, crease instruments and brushes.
Clothing Steamers are thus more effective in removing wrinkles and easier to use than the conventional Iron boxes. Steamers are also easy on the pocket as they nullify the laundry bills.
